On Wednesday, during the first T20I between Australia and Scotland, the visitors went a step further to achieve a run-rate of 16.14, which is the highest till date, in any completed T20I innings. This was of course during the 155-run chase, that Australia achieved in only 9.4 overs.

Hypothetically speaking, had Australia played out full quota of 20 overs, at the same rate, they would have gone on to score 323, the highest score ever in T20Is. This wasn’t the only record that Australia broke during their mammoth effort.

Highest Powerplay Score in T20Is

The Aussies went on to score a massive 113/1 in the first six overs, that is the highest score in the powerplays, in a T20I. They went past the record set during a match between SA vs WI — 102/0.

Travis Head Piles on Misery

But it was all due to the efforts of opener Travis Head, who was in a punishing mood on the day. The southpaw went on to score 80 from only 25 deliveries, that included 12 fours and five massive sixes. He struck at a rate of 320. He was ably supported by skipper Mitchell Marsh, who went on to score 39 from 12 deliveries.
