Arshad Warsi
will be reuniting with the ‘
Munna Bhai MBBS
‘ director.
According to a report, Rajkumar Hirani is set to serve as the showrunner and producer for a
cyber-crime thriller
titled Pritam Pedro, named after the characters played by Arshad Warsi and Vikrant Massey.
The series, directed by Hirani’s assistant director Amir Satyaveer Singh, will stream on the
OTT platform
.
The report stated that the creative team shared that the series will focus on two quirky
cyber cops
, marking a shift for Hirani, who is known for his comedies with strong messages. The source mentioned that while this project leans towards crime drama, Hirani will infuse it with his signature humour. Additionally, Hirani is expected to direct a couple of episodes himself.
The report further elaborated on the storyline of ‘Pritam Pedro’, revealing that Arshad Warsi’s character, Pedro, is a seasoned cop who prefers old-school methods to solve crimes. In contrast, Vikrant Massey’s character, Pritam, is a young, tech-savvy cop who relies on modern technology for investigations. The show will focus on the dynamic between these two contrasting personalities as they navigate their partnership in solving crimes.
According to the report, Pritam Pedro is set to begin filming in Goa this November. Although the production team initially scouted locations in North India, they ultimately decided on Goa, with additional scenes planned to be shot in Mumbai and Pune.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Arshad Warsi also has Akshay Kumar’s ‘Jolly LLB 3’ in the pipeline also starring Huma Qureshi. Directed by Subhash Kapoor, the film will release on April 10, 2025.
On the other hand, Vikrant Massey was recently seen in ‘Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba’ alongside Taapsee Pannu and Sunny Kaushal.
