Anwar Ali saga: Are East Bengal & Delhi FC in major crisis? A day prior to PSC hearing, both clubs demand for time to prepare statements
The Player Status Committee (PSC) hearing on the Anwar Ali case is slated to take place on 10th August. The concerned parties of Delhi FC and East Bengal had the time to submit their responses. But a day ahead of the hearing, both the clubs have demanded more time to prepare their statements for the hearing.
Following the first meeting, the PSC asked the AIFF Players’ Status Department not to approve any request regarding the Anwar Ali issue. And now before the meeting on the 10th, both East Bengal and Delhi FC have asked the PSC to grant them 2 weeks of extended time to prepare their answers.
Crisis for East Bengal & Delhi FC?
According to sources tracking the development, InsideSport has learned that both the clubs have sent in their requests to the PSC. On the other hand, Mohun Bagan’s stance on the issue remains firm. The Mariners want the player issue to be resolved before he plays this season.
In his deposition to the PSC, Anwar Ali claimed that he terminated his contract with Mohun Bagan. Following which he signed a fresh contract with fellow Kolkata giants East Bengal. The PSC claimed that Anwar’s unilateral contract termination was unjust.
If East Bengal and Delhi FC fail to provide necessary clarity on their issue, then both the clubs can be slapped with transfer bans as well as monetary sanctions. The next update on the issue will be delivered on 10th August, when all the concerned parties will meet to discuss the issue.
