Anurag Kashyap showers praise on ‘CTRL’, calls it Ananya Panday’s ‘career-best’

Filmmaker-actor Anurag Kashyap is all praise for the recent direct-to-digital release ‘

CTRL

’ starring Ananya Panday. The film, directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, was released on

Netflix

today, October 4.
In a note shared on Instagram, Anurag stated that Vikramaditya is out with ‘another banger’. He lauded the ‘CTRL’ filmmaker for ‘pushing boundaries of technology and storytelling.”@motwayne is out with another banger.

Again pushing the boundaries of technology and storytelling. You can not contain the man, or put him in a box. Always braver than everyone around him. For me he has always been the go to person, he introduced me to my first still camera, he taught me sound design and the importance of it, introduced me to Mac Book. Always a step ahead of everyone. Now he has gone and made this modern day horror fable.”

Anurag Kashyap also praised Ananya Panday and expressed that she has given her ‘career best’ performance for the film. “Its a thriller, its scary, its a nightmare with a career best central performance by @ananyapanday . I was lucky to see it on screen but now streaming on @netflix.in. Watch it with good headphones. Congratulations to @nikhildwivedi25. It takes equal amounts of balls to back that it takes to make it. Good job team,” Anurag Kashyap said.

Starring Ananya Panday and Vihaan, ‘CTRL’ is a cyber-thriller that depicts the dangers of Artificial Intelligence (

AI

).

ETimes rated the film 3 out of 5 and the review reads, “We’re all aware of the risks of excessive screen time and seeking validation on social media. Writer-director Vikramaditya Motwane’s film takes it a step further, exposing the unsettling consequences of letting AI into our personal space, primarily since it’s controlled by humans. Ananya Pandey gives a decent performance as Nalini ‘Nella’ Awasthi. From the cutesy college student to a diva and how her life eventually shapes up, the actress pulls off the gamut of her role well.”
