Batul Killedar, a Congress leader who is one among the main accused in the case of illegal storage and sale of nutritious food supplied to anganwadi centres in Hubballi, has been suspended from the party.
President of Hubballi Dharwad Urban District unit Altaf Hussain Halwoor has issued the order suspending Batul, who had contested as Congress candidate from ward 77 in the election to Hubballi Dharwad Municipal council in 2021.
Mr. Halwoor said in the order that she had been suspended from the party with effect from Friday following allegations about her involvement in a case. When contacted, Mr. Halwoor said that as Batul was absconding, they had suspended her from the party.
