While speaking on the flood situation in parts of the state, Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan said that a review meeting was done. He also assured that the Central government would do whatever is needed for the state if the situation arises. He further said, “I did a review meeting today. If you look at govt of India, environment and forest dept…even if there’s a simple violation, construction in a forest area…they can immediately take action…Forest officials are quite alert on that…When it comes to encroachments in urban areas, no action is taken….the successive govts hadn’t taken any constructive action they are supposed to do… Encroachments are causing a bigger issue, water instead of going in the natural course they have to flood back into the urban areas…Hyper-action is needed… The previous governments did not pay attention to it. Encroachment is causing a lot of problems as it blocks the natural course of water…The Central government would do whatever is needed for the state if the situation arises…”.
