legacy
.
In a recent video going viral on the internet, the Big B was heard discussing the courage and effort it takes to carry a great legacy forward. He recited a few lines from his father Harivansh’s poem. “My father then said, ‘I haven’t been able to leave any material wealth—no money or anything—for my sons. I write poetry. I have written some words, and these manuscripts are what I have. I hope they will be looked after with respect,’” he stated.
But the actor wanted everyone to remember a line that is his favorite from his father’s work: ‘Mere bete, bete hone se mere uttaradhikari nahi honge. Jo mere uttaradhikari honge, woh mere bete honge’—‘My sons, just because you are my sons does not mean you will be my inheritors. Those who are my inheritors will be my sons.’ Bachchan translated this for the audience.
He showered praises on Nagarjuna Akkineni for preserving the legacy and proving that he is a successful inheritor. The actor further declared himself an official member of
Tollywood
and teased director Nag Ashwin to cast him in more movies like ‘Kalki 2898 AD.’
