disclosed in a chat with the YouTube channel BeautybyBiE that she unknowingly missed out on the opportunity to star in ‘Chalte Chalte’ with Shah Rukh Khan. According to Patel, her secretary never informed her about the offer. She recounted that Shah Rukh later invited her to the dubbing studio, where he showed her some edits of the film.
“When the film was about to release, and Shah Rukh was dubbing for it, he took me into the dubbing studio and showed me a few edits. He said, ‘Come, I will show you edits of the film that you declined.’ I replied, ‘Shah Rukh, what have I declined?’ and he said, ‘This.’” she recollected. The role she missed out on eventually went to Rani Mukerji, who played the female lead in the movie.
