Pushpa 2: The Rule
star returned home from jail on December 14. He was arrested and released on interim bail after a woman died in a theatre
stampede
during the film’s premiere.
A video shared on social media shows Allu Arjun’s grandmother performing the ‘
nazar utarna
’ ritual as he returns from jail. The clip captures Allu Arjun touching her feet, after which they share an emotional hug. She then wards off the evil eye by performing the ritual.
Earlier, another video shared on social media showed Allu Arjun hugging his wife, Sneha, as he returned from jail. Sneha became emotional and teary-eyed upon seeing her husband.
Allu Arjun was arrested on December 13, 2024, in connection with the death of a woman at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad during a screening of
Pushpa 2
: The Rule earlier this month. The incident occurred as large crowds gathered to see Allu Arjun, who was attending the event with music director Devi Sri Prasad. The chaos led to the collapse of the theatre’s main gate, causing a stampede. A 35-year-old woman tragically died, and her 9-year-old son was severely injured.
Allu Arjun was taken from his residence and placed in 14-day judicial custody. He was later granted interim bail for four weeks on a personal bond of Rs 50,000. However, due to delays in paperwork, he ended up spending one night in jail.
After his release, Allu Arjun expressed deep remorse, describing the woman’s death as a “very unfortunate” incident. He thanked everyone for their support and offered his condolences to the family, emphasizing that such an event should never have happened. He assured that he would support the family in every way possible.
On the work front, Allu Arjun is basking in the success of Pushpa 2: The Rule, one of the most anticipated films of the year. The movie, which also stars Rashmika Mandanna, has received an overwhelming response from audiences and has already crossed Rs 1000 crore at the
