debut in the Gal Gadot film ‘Heart of Stone’ in 2022. But when asked about her intentions to work on more
international projects
, Alia admitted that it’s not as easy as it seems.
During a conversation with Kareena Kapoor Khan on the fifth season of ‘What Women Want’, Alia talked about what it takes to commit to such endeavors and her Hollywood debut.
Intrigued by Alia’s international film debut, Kareena inquired as to whether she intended to take future Hollywood films.
Alia shared, “I think it genuinely depends on the timing. When Heart of Stone came to me, I had some time, and I thought it would be an interesting opportunity to break into a new space, similar to what I did with RRR. It’s not about ‘I have to do a Hollywood film’ or ‘I need to take on this project.’ It’s more about pushing myself into unfamiliar territory and taking on challenges that help me grow.”
Although Alia is willing to explore opportunities around the world, she acknowledged that her priorities have changed since having a child. “Now, it’s harder to just pack up and leave for three to four months. I can’t just move bag and baggage for longer periods anymore,” Alia said, acknowledging that making such a commitment would need thorough preparation.
Kareena jokingly suggested that Ranbir Kapoor would be happy to stay at home with their daughter Raha while Alia works. Kareena said, “He’s obsessed,” implying that Ranbir would completely back Alia’s professional choices.
In response, Alia laughed but clarified that it’s more than just a convenience. “It depends on the story, the timing, and how much I want to do it. It’s not just a whim decision; it has to make sense both professionally and personally,” she concluded.
It’s obvious that Alia values maintaining a healthy
work-life balance
as she pursues opportunities in both Bollywood and Hollywood. Although her fans would wish to see her in more international parts, the actress acknowledges that every project needs careful planning.
