JAMMU: Indian Railways on Sunday successfully completed a trial run of a train with 22-bogies between Katra in Jammu and Srinagar on Sunday, officials said.
They said this is the first completely successful trial run on the newly completed line to connect Kashmir valley with Jammu and the rest of India.
The train, comprising 18 AC coaches, two luggage vans, and two engines, left the
Katra station
at around 8am, successfully reaching its destination within four hours, the officials said.
This is the first trial run between Katra and Srinagar and comes within six days after the
Commissioner of Railway Safety
(CRS) Northern Circle, Dinesh Chand Deshwal, authorized the opening of the newly constructed broad gauge line between the Valley and Jammu.
