The Ministry of External Affairs confirmed today that 18 Indian nationals are still serving in the Russian Army with 16 of those categorised as missing. 126 cases of Indians fighting in the Russian military have come to light thus far, confirmed the ministry’s official spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal. Several of these individuals were promised lucrative jobs in Russia before being duped into serving in combat positions in Moscow’s ongoing war in Ukraine.
