Authorities concerned have officially declared a total of 22,493 voters for the MLC elections for the teachers’ constituency in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, covering six districts.
According to the preliminary list, there are 21,555 voters. After receiving applications from new voters till February 10, the authorities have added 938 new voters. There are 13,508 males and 8,985 females. There are 123 polling stations for the elections. Out of these, 13 are in Visakhapatnam district, 24 in Anakapalli, 11 in ASR district, 29 in Vizianagaram, 15 in Parvathipuram-Manyam and 31 in Srikakulam district.
“A total of 10 candidates have filed nominations for the MLC elections. No nominations have been withdrawn as per the schedule on Thursday. Therefore, a total of 10 candidates are in the fray,” Returning Officer and Visakhapatnam Collector MN Harendra Prasad said in an official statement.
The counting of votes will be held at the AU Engineering College grounds. The elections will be held on February 27 from 8 am to 4 pm.
