Shoaib Akhtar dubbed the Pakistan team management as brainless and clueless after their loss to India in Champions Trophy
Former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar blamed Pakistan cricket team’s brainless and clueless management for their defeat on Sunday. Rizwan and co. are on the verge of being knocked out of the Champions Trophy after being handed a 6-wicket defeat by India. Akhtar, who had picked India as favourites to win the contest ahead of the match, blamed Pakistan’s strategy for their humiliation at the hands of their arch-rivals.
Akhtar fumes at Pakistan after loss to India
In a video on Instagram, Akhtar slammed Pakistan for playing only with four bowlers. The Rawalpindi Express pointed out that other teams were fielding at least 6 bowlers whereas Pakistan stuck to playing just four. He further said that the players were as clueless as the team management, adding that they had no skill set or idea of how to win games.
“I knew what was going to happen. When the rest of the teams are playing with 6 bowlers, you are not even able to manage to field 5 of them. It’s a brainless and clueless management they have,” Akhtar said.

“What can we tell the players. They are just like the management. They have no idea what to do. There is no skill set at all. Really disappointed. Nor do the players know anything nor does the management,” Akhtar added.
Pakistan were bundled out for just 241 runs on Sunday. India’s spin choke worked brilliantly against the hosts, with Hardik Pandya and Harshit Rana playing in perfect tandem with the spinners to wreak havoc on Pakistan.
In response, India chased down the target within 42 overs, with Virat Kohli slamming his 51st ODI century. With this loss, the defending champions are on the verge of exiting Champions Trophy.
