Punjab Kings (PBKS) have taken a dig at Ben Duckett, responding to the English player’s comment on the IND vs ENG series result.
“Grapes are sour!” This phrase perfectly describes England players when they lose in ODIs. They often act as if they “don’t care” about these series, claiming to have bigger goals.
Recently, Ben Duckett commented that England doesn’t care about this series after their loss, as their focus is on the Champions Trophy. In response, Punjab Kings had the perfect reply. After Arshdeep Singh dismissed Duckett, they trolled him on social media.
Punjab Kings challenged Ben Duckett, stating that Arshdeep Singh will face him in the Champions Trophy and dismiss him there as well. The English player had previously claimed that the result of the IND vs ENG series was not important to them.
“This is a massive series, but the Champions Trophy is the big competition. If we lose 3-0 to India, I don’t care as long as we beat them in the final in the Champions Trophy. No one will probably look back on this series if we go and do the business in that competition,” Duckett said in a conversation with Sky Sports
Arsheep Singh ready for Champions Trophy
With Jasprit Bumrah missing the Champions Trophy 2025, India needs to have all their pacers in form for the tournament. In the India vs England 3rd ODI, Arshdeep Singh has relaxed India a little as he has gotten two breakthroughs with the first dismissal to Arshdeep Singh.
Duckett demonstrated his aggressive attitude in England’s run chase by smashing Arshdeep Singh for four consecutive boundaries in his fifth over, putting him under tremendous pressure. Just one over later, though, the left-arm pacer had sweet payback in a forceful response.
Arshdeep skillfully tricked Duckett with a finely disguised knuckleball while bowling in the seventh over. In an attempt to maintain his aggressive stance, the England batsman mistimed his shot and gave Indian captain Rohit Sharma an easy catch at mid-off. With that, England was at a critical point in the chase as Duckett stepped back for 34 off 22 balls.
