Valentine’s week 2025 saw a box office clash, as Himesh Reshammiya’s ‘Badass Ravikummar’ and Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor’s ‘Loveyapa’ released on the same day. The former is an action parody, while the latter is a rom-com. Though according to the theme of the season, rom-com should have outshined the action spoof, the opposite happened. Despite slow business and major dips in the collection, ‘Badass RaviKummar’ stands at a collection of Rs. 6.75 after a 4-day run, while ‘Loveyapa’ minted Rs.5.15 crore, according to Sacnilk.
Without any aggressive PR strategy or stunt, ‘Badass Ravikummar Rs 2.75 crore at the box office on day 1. This spin-off of the 2014 film ‘The Xpose,’ then saw a drop of more than 27 percent, and made ₹2 crore on Saturday. Thereafter, on Sunday as well the number went further down, and the collection was only Rs. 1.40 crore. Now the early estimates show that on Monday the movie fell short of making even a crore, as the Monday collections stand at Rs. 0.60 crore.
‘Badass Ravikumar’
“Badass Ravikumar,” directed by Keith Gomes, is an action movie with a musical parody theme. The film stars Himesh Reshammiya in the main role, alongside prominent actors such as Johnny Lever, Prabhu Deva, Saurabh Sachdeva, Kirti Kulhari, Simona J, and Sanjay Mishra in significant parts.
As for the plot, Ravi Kumar (Himesh Reshammiya) is a daring and nontraditional police officer tasked with safeguarding the nation’s secrets. Will he be able to complete his mission, or will it jeopardize national security?
As far as the review of the movie is concerned, ETimes shares, “At the outset, Badass Ravi Kumar sets the tone with a disclaimer: “This film is all about badass logic, and here logic is optional.” Promising to deliver the over-the-top, dialogue-heavy entertainment of the 80s, it certainly stays true to its claim. But does that make it entertaining? Unfortunately, the answer is a resounding NO.”
