Priyanka Chopra Jonas has spent several years within the glamour world, ever since she won the Miss World Pageant in 2000. Later, in 2003, she made her debut in Hindi movies. The actress who has been quite vocal about women empowerment and is quite an inspiration for many young girls, was recently asked if she has felt objectified. Going by the career she’s in, actresses are often objectified.
In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, she was asked about being objectified. Reacting to it, she said, “I don’t overthink it.” She further added, “I know the nature of the beast… My job is literally to be seen through a lens. I made my peace with that long ago.”
In the same interview, Priyanka spoke about why she chose to marry Nick Jonas. She admitted that she was hurt by the dishonesty in her previous relationships. Thus, that made her look for honesty in her partner, apart from other things. She said, “The first was honesty, because there were times in some of my previous relationships when I’d been hurt by dishonesty. The second was that he had to appreciate the value of family. Third: he had to take his profession very seriously, because I take mine very seriously. Fourth: I wanted someone who was creative and had the imagination to dream big with me. And fifth: I wanted someone who had drive and ambition, like I did.”
Priyanka is currently in India. She was in Hyderabad shooting for SS Rajamouli’s next with Mahesh Babu. She is now in Mumbai for her brother Siddharth Chopra’s wedding.
