“If we look at this budget — if you were earning Rs 12 lakh during Nehru Ji’s time, one-fourth of your salary would have gone as tax. If Indira Ji’s government was in power, 10 lakh out of every 12 lakh would have gone as tax. Until 10-12 years ago, under the Congress government, if you earned 12 lakh, you would have to pay 2 lakh 60 thousand rupees in taxes. But after yesterday’s budget of the BJP government, those earning Rs 12 lakh annually will not have to pay a single rupee in tax,” he explained. Delhi will go to Assembly polls on February 5 and the counting of votes will take place on February 8.
