New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday launched its latest campaign song, “
Dil valo ki Delhi ko ab BJP Sarkar chahiye
“, ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections scheduled for February 5.
The song has been sung by former BJP MP and Bhojpuri singer-actor Dinesh Lal Yadav, popularly known as Nirahua.
Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva said this was the party’s fourth campaign song for the upcoming polls.
At the event which saw the launching of the campaign song, BJP leaders also praised the Union Budget presented by finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday, calling it a “golden budget”.
“The budget that was presented yesterday was a golden budget of Amrit Kaal. Everyone is happy and congratulating the Prime Minister and the finance minister. In my entire political life, I haven’t seen a budget with so many projects and schemes for every sector,” said Sachdeva.
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari too highlighted the decision to exempt income tax on earnings up to Rs 12 lakh. “No tax on an income of up to Rs 12 lakh is a big help for the middle class. It’s good news for all hardworking professionals,” he said.
Tiwari also took a veiled dig at Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, claiming that previous administrations misused budget allocations. “Some people earlier used wrong means. We know that 8% of the budget can be allocated for welfare schemes, but corrupt leaders like the CM misused funds, ended up in jail, and their political future is now over,” he added.
The BJP has been intensifying its attacks on the AAP through its campaign songs. Earlier, it released “Sheesh Mahal, apda failane walon ka adda”, targeting Kejriwal over alleged irregularities in the construction of his official residence. Another song, “Bahane nahi badlav chahiye, Delhi mein BJP sarkar chahiye”, was sung by three-time North East Delhi MP Manoj Tiwari.
