The Job Racket Wing of the Central Crime Branch has arrested a 51-year-old man for allegedly cheating 193 job aspirants after receiving money to the tune of ₹2 crore on the pretext of sending them abroad for work.
The arrested man has been identified as Saifudin, 51, of Chennai, who was arrested by the police following a complaint from Padmanaban. The complainant alleged that Saifudin promised to get him a meat cutter job in Poland for a salary of ₹1 lakh. He received ₹1.25 lakh as advance from him for visa facilitation in 2023 but failed to get him a visa or arrange travel to the country as promised.
The police said Saifudin ran Saif International, a consultancy firm, without a valid licence from the Protector of Emigrants. Promising to get jobs in Italy, Portugal, Poland, Germany, and other countries, he collected money altogether ₹2 crore and cheated them.
The Job Racket Wing also arrested Nandagopalan, 40, and his wife Divya, 35, of Ponniammanmedu for cheating three job aspirants after receiving over ₹35 lakh after promising to get them driver jobs in the School Education Department and clerk jobs in the Postal Department, and later giving them fake appointment orders.
