'Emergency' box office Day 2: Kangana Ranaut's political drama witnessed a jump in the numbers on Saturday, reaching close to Rs 6 crore mark

Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Emergency’ has been the talk of the town right from the word go. The movie got embroiled in controversies from the beginning. Are You Impressed by the Box Office Performance of ‘Emergency’ Despite Its Challenges?

Earlier reports were doing the rounds that the movie would not be able to perform well at the box office, but these numbers have quashed such claims. The movie made around 36 percent more than the opening day on its second day, bringing the total to Rs. 5.92 crore.
It is worth noting that ‘Emergency’ gave tough competition to Ajay Devgn’s ‘Azaad.’ The film that marked the debut of Rasha Thandani and Aaman Devgan, opened with Rs. 1.50 crore and according to early estimates, on Saturday, the movie made the same numbers.

As the weekend progresses, it will be interesting to observe the box office performance of both films.
The film showcases Kangana Ranaut in the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and delves into the political turmoil of the Emergency era in 1975. Despite the promotional activities for the movie being relatively understated, its attraction primarily arises from Kangana’s fame and the compelling political storyline.
In addition to Kangana, the cast of ‘Emergency’ features prominent actors like Anupam Kher as Jayaprakash Narayan, Shreyas Talpade as Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Milind Soman as Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. Further, there is Adhir Bhat as Feroze Gandhi and Vishak Nair as Sanjay Gandhi. Each actor has successfully portrayed these significant political figures, enhancing the film’s historical relevance.
