UP-state veterans badminton championship 2025 concludes

The UP-state veterans badminton championship 2025, hosted by the Badminton Association of Agra, concluded at the Prakhar Agarwal Memorial Academy. Over 300 players from Uttar Pradesh participated in the three-day event, held from January 10 to 12.
This year’s championship was dedicated to late Vijay Sharma, recognizing his contributions to badminton. Players competed in

age

categories from 35+ to 70+, showing that age does not limit the passion for the game.

The closing ceremony featured Deepak Kumar (IPS), inspector general, as the chief guest. He praised the participants for their performances and recognized the organizers for their efforts in promoting

sports

in Uttar Pradesh.
Other dignitaries present included Ajay Mishra, additional commissioner and Madhu Baghel, wife of SP Singh Baghel.

Beena Lawania, the president of the Badminton Association of Agra, said, “Agra has the potential to shine not just for its heritage but also for its contribution to sports.”
