DPR for new waste treatment plant in Thrikkakara presented

The detailed project report (DPR) on the proposed waste treatment plant in Thrikkakara was presented to the municipal council on Tuesday.

The DPR was examined at a meeting chaired by chairperson Radhamani Pillai. Vice-chairperson Abdu Shana, health standing committee chairman Unni Kakkanad, education standing committee chairman Noushaf Pallechi, and councillor P.M. Yunus were present.

Sources said the movement of biodegradable waste from the municipal area had been smooth despite apprehensions about clearing dues to the private contractor engaged by the municipality for the purpose, but the issue had been solved.
