Rasika Dugal, who is known for her powerful portrayal of
Beena Tripathi
in
Mirzapur
, has opened up about her experiences on set, discussing how
intimacy coaching
helped her feel comfortable during
intimate scenes
. The actress, celebrated for her remarkable screen presence, shared her thoughts on the support she received during her first intimate scenes.
“Intimacy coaching is a fairly new concept and in my opinion a very important one as well. I’m very glad that it’s around because I was fortunate that the people I worked with when I had my first intimate scenes were actually from Mirzapur. They were people that I knew. They are very sensitive people and they made sure that I was not uncomfortable in any way and they knew exactly what was going to happen on the shoot,” Rasika told Bollywood Bubble.
She went on to explain the importance of transparency on set, adding, “So, I knew exactly how many shots were going to be taken, how the shots were going to be taken from that it would be a closed set, and how closed the set would be. They had given me a space enough, that if I felt uncomfortable, I could go and talk to someone also, because I knew them from before. I knew Gurmeet Singh before, I knew Karan Anshuman. Karan had told me to listen if there’s one person on this set you don’t feel comfortable with that person will not be there when we are shooting, so just let us know.”

However, Rasika also acknowledged that not all actors enjoy the same privileges. She mentioned that, in some cases, the support system might be lacking, leading to situations where individuals feel uncomfortable but struggle to express it. She pointed out that actors, while focused on their performance, shouldn’t have to worry about such discomforts.
Rasika emphasized the importance of having a safe professional space, something she was fortunate to experience due to the established friendships and comfort on her set. She noted that while her experience was positive, not every project offers such an environment, stressing that it is essential for someone on set to ensure clear boundaries and provide support when needed.
