‘, a tradition celebrated annually to honour Vajpayee’s legacy. Prominent leaders, including defence minister Rajnath Singh, home minister Amit Shah, and BJP chief JP Nadda, joined the tribute at the memorial.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji on his 100th birth anniversary. He dedicated his life to building a strong, prosperous, and self-reliant India. His vision and mission will continue to give strength to the resolve for a developed India.”
Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who received India’s highest civilian honor, the Bharat Ratna, served as Prime Minister three times.
He is widely celebrated for elevating the BJP to national prominence and steering India through major political and economic reforms. Vajpayee also served as external affairs minister in 1977 under Morarji Desai’s Janata Party government.
After the collapse of Morarji-led Janata Party government, Vajpayee established the Bhartiya Janata Party in 1980, becoming its first president.
A distinguished Hindi poet and orator, Vajpayee was first elected to the Lok Sabha in 1957 from Balrampur, Uttar Pradesh, during India’s second general elections.
He remains the only leader to win elections from six different Lok Sabha constituencies in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, New Delhi, and Gujarat.
