The much-anticipated opening of NTPC‘s green hydrogen hub in Vizag, one of the country’s largest, on November 29 has been pushed back. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had invited the Prime Minister for opening, and several large investments were expected to be announced from Vizag. However, according to recent reports, this has been postponed due to the city’s heavy rainfall forecast.

Parliament’s pass-making process remains chaotic. Before the winter session began, a new smart card was launched for journalists, however it was decided not to activate it this year owing to a lack of clarity on the method for issuing passes. Meanwhile, the time consuming process of granting fresh passes for each session, even for annual pass holders who want to report from the press gallery, persists, causing unnecessary hassles to the press and Parliament workers. It’s no surprise that often there aren’t many reporters in the press gallery to cover the proceedings.

The Mahayuti arrived in such large numbers that the Independents, who generally shy away from joining the government, called the party immediately and offered their support. When one such Independent called Devendra Fadnavis to give his support, Fadnavis shared the information with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and they both laughed. Ajit Pawar was in earshot and jokingly remarked that they should not laugh because the Independent candidate giving support had defeated his candidate.
