After Salman Khan, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan also received a death threat from Chhattisgarh. A call threatening the actor and demanding Rs 50 lakh was reportedly received by Bandra Police Station. Fans of SRK took to social media shortly after this startling news made headlines to defend his choice to not celebrate his birthday this year with them on his balcony.
Shah Rukh Khan greets the throngs of fans who wait for a sight of him on his birthday every year from the balcony of his Mumbai home, Mannat. However, in contrast to previous years, the streets around his home were deserted on November 2 as strict security prevented people from congregating.
King Khan’s fans were alarmed a while back when they learned that he had received a threatening phone from an unknown individual. Soon after, they justified his choice to skip seeing his excited fans on his birthday this year on X (previously Twitter). Some even expressed their concern about Shah Rukh’s security.
A user tweeted, “Now it’s striking to SRKians that it was probably the best decision from SRK that he didn’t come out on his balcony on his birthday. Nothing is more important to us than his safety. Stay safe and take care @iamsrk.” Another netizen wrote, “LOL sahi kiya that SRK skipped coming to the balcony this year. He won’t prioritize his life more than fans. Some of y’ol need to be real.” A third fan commented that SRK’s safety should also be increased, just like Salman Khan’s.
