Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s spy action thriller series ‘

Citadel: Honey Bunny

’ co-starring Varun Dhawan is gearing up for release in November. The gripping trailer was launched of late and Samantha packed a punch, leaving her fans and admirers of the series equally impressed.
Samantha, who is known for shouldering impactful films and web series, has recently observed that there are more representations of

modern-day women

in cinema today.

In an interview with Firstpost, when she was asked about how she sees the change in women’s roles in cinema today, Samantha said the change starts with actors, and added that she now feels a significant responsibility to portray characters that showcase different facets of being a woman. She also expressed that it is welcoming to see a lot more representation of modern-day women in the cinema today.
Samantha also said that she is ‘pretty conscious’ of the roles she picks. Referring to ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’, Samantha said, “And this one is definitely a welcome change because we are used to

spy movies

and spy series where the man is doing all of the heavy lifting, and he’s at the centre of it all. So it is nice to be given equal, you know, ‘kind of equal’ time and in terms of action scenes in ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’ which is a great thing. I hopefully, more layered characters are written for women.”
