Keeper-batter Sanju Samson, who is a part of India’s squad for BAN T20Is, has been left out of Kerala’s squad for initial Ranji Trophy matches
Kerala batter Sanju Samson has been excluded from Kerala’s squad for the first couple of Ranji Trophy matches. The keeper-batter is currently a part of India’s T20I squad playing a series against Bangladesh. With Samson expected to play the 3rd T20I on October 12, he has been left out the squad.
Sachin Baby has been named as the captain and will lead the side. Kerala will face Punjab in their Ranji Trophy 2024 opener on October 11. Samson, who’s red-ball prospects don’t look very good at the moment, is expected to return to the domestic side following the conclusion of the ongoing series against BAN. So far in two T20Is, Sanju Samson has managed to score only 39 runs with the bat, playing as an opener.
However, he did have a bright moment during the Duleep Trophy where he brought up a first-class century in India D vs India B match. Another reason why Sanju has not been included in the Ranji Trophy squad for the initial two rounds is due to the short gap between the first two matches.
