Alkem labs denies its products, Pan-D and Clavam 625, failed quality test

NEW DELHI: Alkem Laboratories

denied allegations

on Friday that certain batches of its products, Pan-D and Clavam 625, failed to meet quality standards as reported by Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) adding that the the “samples in question were fake.”
The CDSCO, which publishes a monthly list of substandard or counterfeit medicines in the country, had listed over 50 drugs, including some batches of commonly used antacids and paracetamol, as “not of standard quality,” according to news agency Reuters.

Alkem said that it had investigated the claims by comparing the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation’s samples with the actual batches of both products. The company found that the CDSCO’s samples were not manufactured by them.
Earlier on the day, Alkem’s stock price experienced a slight decline of more than 1% before closing 0.2% lower .
