In a recent episode of
The Great Indian Kapil Show
, Karan Johar opened up about his journey as a father, sharing that he often entertained his kids with whimsical, nonsensical stories.
The filmmaker revealed that his kids are somewhat confused about his profession, believing he’s just a director. They often ask if directors usually stay behind the camera, given their familiarity with him on television.
KJo further explained that when someone asked his kids what their dad does, they admitted to being quite confused about his profession.
They genuinely don’t understand the details of his work in the industry.
Karan further shared that his kids are often amused when they see him in makeup or changing outfits with a costume designer at home. They’re always curious and wonder what’s going on during those moments.
When Kapil asked about Karan’s
twins
and their playful teasing, Karan laughed and acknowledged that they are his biggest critics. He joked that he doesn’t need to worry about anyone else when he has his kids keeping him in check.
In the episode, Karan discussed how becoming a father to his twins has significantly changed him. He mentioned that he now thinks more about their future and feels the need to create a solid path for them. He’s also involved in two WhatsApp groups with the mothers of his kids’ classmates, communicating with 60 mothers daily.
The director also expressed surprise at himself for spinning so many silly stories for his children. He noted their love for animals, especially lions, tigers, and elephants, which inspired him to come up with outrageous tales for their enjoyment.
