Janhvi Kapoor will mark her
Telugu film debut
with
Devara: Part 1
, wherein she will share the frame for the first time with Jr NTR. This Koratala Siva film is already garnering enormous attention with its release scheduled on September 27, 2024.
In a recent chat hosted by director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the cast of
Devara
: Part 1 spoke about their experiences on set, with Jr NTR showering praise on Janhvi.
The RRR actor disclosed how amazed he was when Janhvi spoke the Telugu dialogues. “I was shocked when I saw her. Ye ladki aayi hai Bombay se, kya pata hoga (She is a girl from Bombay how much will she know)? Although her roots are in South India, speaking in Telugu is sometimes (tough)… But she was (snaps his finger to gesture he was impressed with her). There was a scene in which this woman just went all out. And Siva was looking at the monitor and he was looking at me (for my reaction). I was like… she was fabulous. I was shocked.”
Reacting to the praise, Janhvi said, “My day is made. I feel like I can leave the interview now and not worry about anything else,” shared Jr NTR. Despite her roots in South India, the actress has primarily worked in Hindi cinema, and transitioning to Telugu was expected to be challenging. But her fluency floored the team of ‘Devara: Part 1’. The action entertainer stars Jr NTR in a double role, Devara and Varadha, aka Deva and Vara, while Saif Ali Khan essays the role of Bhaira and Janhvi portrays the role of Thangam. Prakash Raj, Srikanth Meka, Tom Shine Chacko, and Narain also essays pivotal roles in Devara: Part 1.
