The recommendation of DAC Assam PCC for the readmittance of former Minister Nilomoni Sen Deka who deposed before the DAC Assam PCC with an undertaking, has been forwarded to AICC for its approval. A status report will be submitted by DAC Assam PCC to All India Congress Committee shortly.

The DAC has show caused MLAs includingAbdur Rashid Mondol, Rekibuddin Ahmed, Bharat Chandra Narah besides Mira Barthakur, President Assam Pradesh Mahila Congress and Samsuddin Barlaskar President Hailakandi, District Congress Committee.

The newly constituted DAC headed by Chairman Nripendra Thakuria Vice-President APCC, Co-Chairman, Bobbeeta Sharma Vice-President APCC and Member-Secretary Sri Shirazul Hussain Saikia held several rounds of discussions, interactions and hearings with grassroots party workers and leaders about the omission and commission of anti-party activities during the last Lok Sabha elections, 2024

The Committee received complaints/petitions/allegations numbering around 56 from different Block Congress, District Congress, individual applicants and from contesting candidates in the last LS elections 2024. The DAC Assam PCC received complaints from the following Districts- Goalpara, Kamrup (Rural), Hailakandi, Lakhimpur, Majuli, Tinsukia, Barpeta, Kokrajhar, Dhemaji, South Salmara- Mancachar, Hojai, Baksa, Nagaon, Darrang-Udalguri and Dhubri.

The DAC Assam PCC had consultations with AICC General Secretary- in- charge Assam Jitendra Singh and APCC PresidentBhupen Kumar Borah about allegations received from various districts and organs of the party etc and they extended full support for a fair and impartial report within the framework of the Indian National Congress Constitution.

The Committee physically verified the ground realities in some of the areas under South Salmara-Mancachar, Goalpara, Kamrup (Rural) District Congress Committees etc. The whole exercise is aimed at identification of party members who were directly or indirectly involved in anti-party activities during the last Lok Sabha elections of 2024 which is considered as breach of party discipline. It is also noted that party members holding responsible positions speaking out of turn in front of electronic media and sharing public posts etc. in social media against party leadership, policies and ideologies adversely affect party image and create confusion and damage morale of rank and file of party workers.
