Following the sudden demise of her father Anil Mehta yesterday, Malaika Arora and her family are going through a tough time. The tragic news broke on the morning of September 11, 2024. Malaika and her sister, Amrita Arora, arrived at their mother Joyce Polycarp’s Bandra home and said their final goodbyes to their late father. Later that evening, following her father’s passing, Arjun Kapoor assisted a distraught Malaika in getting to her car.
They were seen leaving with Kareena Kapoor as well.
In a video posted by a paparazzi on Instagram, Arjun Kapoor can be seen accompanying Malaika Arora while exiting the building. Arjun helps Malaika and her son, Arhaan Khan, get safely into the car. Malaika’s sister, Amrita Arora also accompanied them. Malaika’s BFF Kareena Kapoor was standing at the back. Kareena left the building with her sister, actress Karisma Kapoor and were seen boarding their car together.
As soon as Malaika Arora learned of her father’s demise, she hurried to her parents’ house in Bandra, Mumbai. Reportedly, she was in Pune at the time. Amrita Arora arrived with her spouse Shakeel Ladak to pay their final respects. Amrita Arora had met her parents the day before he passed away.
Malaika’s ex-boyfriend Arjun Kapoor arrived at her mother’s house early on Wednesday. Actor-producer Arbaaz Khan, Malaika’s ex-husband, also offered his condolences to her late father.
Malaika’s son, Arhaan Khan was earlier seen leaving the building with his aunt Amrita and cousin Nirvaan Khan. Arhaan’s anguish was evident upon the sudden demise of his grandfather. Apart from them, Salim Khan, Helen, Seema Sajdeh, Sohail Khan, and Alvira Agnihotri visited Malaika’s mom’s residence after learning of the sad news of Anil Mehta’s passing.
On Wednesday, Malaika Arora shared the statement after her father, Anil Mehta’s death.
Mehta
passed away on September 11 and police have called it a prima facie case of suicide. In the statement, Malaika requested privacy during the difficult time.
The statement read, “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dear father, Anil Mehta. He was a gentle soul, a devoted grandfather, a loving husband, and our best friend. Our family is in deep shock by this loss, and we kindly request privacy from the media and well-wishers during this difficult time. We appreciate your understanding, support, and respect.”
The cremation service of Anil Mehta will occur on September 12 at Santacruz Hindu Crematorium in Mumbai.
