Honey Singh who is known for his energetic and catchy songs, revealed that he wrote the

song

Chaar Botal Vodka

‘ out of anger after facing

protests

that attempted to block the release of one of his previous songs.
During his conversation with The Lallantop, Honey Singh addressed rumours of Shah Rukh slapping him. The singer shared that he couldn’t discuss it at that moment, saying it would be addressed in his upcoming

documentary

.

When pressed further, he clarified that “nothing like that happened.”
Honey Singh recalled that he wrote the song “Chaar Botal Vodka” after drinking four bottles of vodka with two others in Australia. He was on a

world tour

with Shah Rukh Khan in 2013 after the release of Chennai Express when protests from his Sikh community erupted, accusing him of making dirty songs that spoiled the culture.
Honey Singh revealed that Shah Rukh Khan stood by him during this time, stating that if Honey wasn’t allowed to perform, he wouldn’t continue with the world tour. He considered this support from Shah Rukh Khan to be a significant gesture.

Honey Singh explained how the song came to be, recalling that during the tour, he performed to a crowd of 25,000-30,000 cheering fans, but there were 500 people outside burning his effigies. Feeling irritated and hurt by those protesters, he went back to his room after the show with his choreographer and a dancer, and they started drinking. As they drank, Honey began creating the beat for the song. He decided to sing it in a childlike accent, thinking that if people accused him of ruining their culture, he would ensure that the song became so ingrained that every kid would sing it.

Honey Singh shared Shah Rukh Khan’s reaction after hearing the song. He recalled that Shah Rukh told him, “Are you crazy? What kind of song have you made? (Gaaliyan padege tereko), This will be a flop, and you’ll get criticized.” Despite the warning, Honey Singh was determined and insisted, “I will sing it just like this.”
For the unversed, Honey Singh and Shah Rukh Khan collaborated on Rohit Shetty’s ‘Chennai Express’, where Honey Singh wrote and composed the film’s popular hit ‘Lungi Dance.’
