Rohit hasn’t played a Test match since March and has started getting into the red-ball groove a month before Bangladesh Tests start.
Rohit Sharma has started preparing for the upcoming red-ball home season. With the India vs Bangladesh Test series starting on September 19, India’s Test captain has started to shift his focus to the longer format of the game. Rohit has been playing white-ball cricket since late March. It was with T20s (IPL and T20 World Cup), and most recently, he played 3 ODIs against Sri Lanka.
Rohit Sharma & Abhishek Nayar back together
With Abhishek Nayar, one of Rohit Sharma’s closest friends, joining the Indian cricket team as one of the three assistant coaches, the opener has decided to once again train under him. This time, it’s official. Nayar has helped several players transform themselves, including big names like Dinesh Karthik and Rohit.
The duo went to train for the Bangladesh Tests in Mumbai. As Rohit isn’t participating in the Duleep Trophy, which starts on September 5, the only way to change his mindset from whacking the ball to leaving it is to train in the nets.
The Bangladesh Tests will serve as a warm-up to a bigger challenge against the Border Gavaskar Trophy. India and Rohit Sharma won’t take Bangladesh or New Zealand lightly in the five matches they play at home, but ultimately, the India vs Australia Tests are the biggest challenge.
