Historic! England to host India for the first-ever Women’s Test match at Lord’s in 2026

England Cricket Board (ECB) has announced a packed schedule till 2026 for both men’s and women’s cricket.

In a groundbreaking development, the England Cricket Board (ECB) has announced a welcoming news that the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground will host the first-ever Women’s Test match. The highly anticipated fixture will be a one-off Test between the hosts England and Team India. It will be played in the summer of 2026.

Upon the matter, Richard Gould, who is the ECB Chief Executive Officer, said: “I’m delighted we can confirm that India Women will take on England Women in the first ever women’s Test match at Lord’s. It will be a truly special occasion, and one of real significance for the game.”

Although the England women’s team has previously played white-ball fixtures at the ‘Mecca of Cricket’, it will mark the first-ever red-ball women’s fixture there.

Before the monumental women’s Test match in 2026, India women’s team will also tour England in 2025 to play a white-ball series. This will coincide with the men’s Test schedule against England as well, that will be played between June 20 to August 4. The women’s side will face England in 5 T20Is, starting 28 June in Nottingham. The final T20I of the series will be played on 12 July in Nottingham. The women’s team will take on England for a 3-match ODI series, starting on 16 July. The 50-over series ends on July 22.
