Bollywood actor
Rajkummar Rao
recently tackled rumours about plastic surgery. In a chat with ScoopWhoop,
Emraan Hashmi
was asked why actors sometimes opt for surgery. When Rajkummar’s name was mentioned, Emraan blushed and responded with a hesitant ‘yeah.’
He further added that the cosmetic surgery industry is a reality and has been marketed effectively. According to him, it’s not just limited to the industry; everyone wants to look like that poster boy or girl.
People often feel forced to conform to these beauty standards to gain affection and feel better about themselves. Despite these trends, he clarified that he has not undergone any cosmetic surgery himself.
In April, Rajkummar Rao faced speculation about having undergone plastic surgery. He responded to these rumors, clarifying that he had not had any cosmetic procedures. The controversy began after he appeared at a concert in Mumbai, where his altered look led to various comments on social media.
Denying the rumours, he had told PTI, “I’ve not gone under the knife. I have not done any kind of plastic surgery. That picture, if you see it again, how is it possible in 14 years, there’s one picture and no other picture like that? I feel it’s certainly a touched-up picture because my skin is looking so flawless. Even I was amazed how it’s so flawless without any makeup and after shooting the whole day.”
Recently, talking to Film Companion, Rajkummar mentioned that
paparazzi
are always around, so actors need to look their best whenever they step outside. The actor said that one wrong angle, one wrong picture, and one wrong moment were captured, and people would just talk about it for no reason. He doesn’t know how it became like this. It was never like this. Now, people go to the airport and wonder what if there are paps there yar. He is not carrying his cap, it’s a bad hair day, the picture will come, and there will be bad comments. That pressure is there. It’s so weird.
