Former India cricket team head coach Rahul Dravid is very excited about the prospects of cricket’s potential inclusion in the 2028 Olympics. Noting that the Summer Games is among the biggest sporting events in the world, Dravid hoped that both the India men’s and women’s team will win gold medals if the sport is included in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Dravid was a part of the programme organized at the first-ever India House in Paris.
Coming fresh off a T20 World Cup win in the USA, Dravid batted for the sport’s inclusion on Olympics, noting that it enjoyed a huge fan following. Dravid went to say that he would attempt to be a part of the Indian contingent in 2028 for the LA Olympics, going to joke that he would even consider being a media paerson.
“The dream for me to have a fantastic cricket tournament, hopefully Indian men and women winning the gold which would be nice,” Dravid said.
‘Dream come true’
Dravid went on to claim that cricet would be a star attraction in the USA very soon, citing jam-packed stadiums for some of the T20 World Cup games. He said that cricket was starting to dawn on the global sporting community and added that he could feel so in Paris too. Dravid expressed his desire for cricket to be a part of the Olympics, noting that it would be a dream come true moment.
