Samir Soni
, known for his versatile roles in films and web shows, recently shared his candid opinion on the rising pay packages of
Bollywood stars
. During his conversation with Ujjwal Trivedi, Soni reacted to Karan Johar and
Farah Khan
‘s remarks on high
entourage costs
.
Samir Soni expressed that the rising expenses in Bollywood are a result of the industry’s own choices.
He remarked that if Karan Johar and Farah Khan think the costs are too high, they are the ones paying these amounts.
Sameer pointed out that signing a big star for Rs 100 crore and then complaining about the high fees is contradictory, suggesting that there are also talented people willing to work for much less, such as ₹1 crore or even Rs 50 lakh. Samir implied that the problem partly lies within the industry’s own decisions.
Meanwhile, Karan had spoken about the exorbitant fees of actors in the present times, while Farah pointed out at the rising entourage calling it a ‘wastage of resources.’
Recently,
veteran star
Gulshan Grover opened up about the ongoing entourage debate related to Bollywood stars. During an interview with Hindustan Times, Gulshan Grover stated that producers now unnecessarily highlight this issue. He also mentioned that actors need a
support system
around them to perform their best in the filmmaking process. He suggested that anyone complaining about this is outdated and not in touch with the current industry norms.
On the work front, Sameer Soni made his Bollywood debut with Rajkumar Santoshi’s China Gate (1998). He is well-known for movies like ‘Baghban’ (2003), ‘Fashion’ (2008) and others.
