Hardik Pandya is the best T20I all-rounder in the world, joins Wanindu Hasaranga on top

Hardik Pandya bagged 11 wickets and scored 144 runs in the recently concluded T20 World Cup.

In the first ICC rankings update after India’s T20 World Cup 2024 triumph, star Hardik Pandya has become the best T20I all-rounder in the world. The MI skipper went up two spots, and shares the top spot with Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga. Pandya was excellent throughout the World Cup and was instrumental in the final as well, bagging the prized wickets of Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller.

All-Round Hardik Pandya Shines in T20 World Cup

Hardik Pandya finished with 144 runs in the World Cup, and struck at 150, and also bagged 11 wickets. Yet his performance in the IND vs SA is the most memorable one where he bagged three wickets. Meanwhile, there were other movements too in the rankings. Marcus Stoinis, Sikandar Raza, Shakib Al Hasan and Liam Livingstone — all went up a position.

As far as the bowlers are concerned, South Africa’s Anrich Nortje also moved up seven spots, to occupy the second spot. India’s Axar Patel, meanwhile, reached the seventh spot in the bowlers rankings. Jasprit Bumrah, who finished with 17 wickets in the tournament, moved up 12 positions to be 12th, and Arshdeep Singh moved up to 17th.
