Beijing Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra recently addressed the event organized by the Athletics Federation of India. It seems like the former Olympian has subtle advice for athletes bound for Paris.
India’s first individual Olympic gold medalist, Abhinav Bindra, became the blue-eyed boy after clinching gold at the 2008 Beijing Olympics in the 10 m air rifle event. Recently, he wished all the Indian athletes bound for the Paris Olympics, who are all set to represent India, and willing add more medals to the nation’s cabinet.
Abhinav Bindra recently shared his thoughts about all the Paris going athletes during a meet and greet program organized by the Athletics Federation of India (AFI). His simple advice was to ‘stay in the moment’.
‘I would just want them to give their best to stay in the moment, to remain flexible in their mindset, and to just bring back the work that they had put in. You know, true confidence comes from the effort that has been put in over a consistent period of time, which I’m sure they have’ Bindra said.
Neeraj Chopra and Tejinderpal Singh’s medals inspired the nation!
The former also talked about the impact of Neeraj Chopra’s gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics and Tajinderpal Singh Toor, who is a two-time Asian gold medalist in shot put. The 41-year-old said, ‘Our athletes are performing well, and they will win medals in the Olympics. Since Neeraj Chopra won the gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics, other athletes also want to win medals for their country‘.
