Vinod Rawat

‘s path to becoming an actor, director, writer, and producer is a testament to the power of perseverance and the pursuit of one’s dreams. His debut film, “Pushtani,” which was presented by

Hrithik Roshan

, is a culmination of a remarkable journey that began with Rawat working as a floor manager at a McDonald’s outlet in New Delhi. Rawat, who hails from Uttarakhand, never dreamed of being a part of the film industry.

However, during his night shifts, he would spend his time mimicking Bollywood actors, including favorites like Johny Lever and

Johnny Walker

.

It was during this time that he met a fellow crew member who introduced him to the vibrant world of Delhi theatre, the actor shared with Indian Express. Inspired by this new discovery, Rawat made the bold decision to quit his job and join the Kshitij Theatre Group in Mayur Vihar. It was here that he crossed paths with

Rajkummar Rao

, who would become a mentor to Rawat, guiding him through the process of breaking into the industry. Rawat’s journey to Mumbai was not without its challenges. The actor revealed, “When I came to Mumbai, I realised how difficult it was. I would be told ‘not fit’ for every other project. I knew I could survive here like this for six months. In Love Sex Aur Dhoka, I played ‘Goon one’, who comes to intimidate Rajkummar Rao! I was so happy because on day one I didn’t get my shot but I was paid Rs 1,110. Then when my shot came, I got Rs 2,200. But after that I had no work. I did small parts in Hansal Mehta’s Shahid and City Lights.”

He further revealed that he indulged in casting for movies and even took the audition of Vikrant Massey for Lootera. It was through his work in casting that he caught the attention of Hrithik Roshan, who was impressed with Sonam Kapoor’s performance in “Neerja,” a film Rawat was associated with.

Rawat’s collaboration with Hrithik Roshan as an

acting coach

began with the superstar’s film “Kaabil” and has since extended to other projects, including “Super 30,” “Vikram Vedha,” and “Fighter.” Rawat’s approach to coaching is adaptable, as he believes there is no one-size-fits-all method, but rather a need to understand and connect with each individual actor.
