India have already entered the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2024 where they will clash with defending champion England.

Team India has entered the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup for the fifth time after defeating Australia in their last Super 8 clash. The ‘Men in Blue’ are unbeaten in the tournament so far and are among the favorites to win the trophy. However, winning all games in the league stage is different from finding triumph in the knockout stages, which are a matter of do or die. As India prepares to clash with England in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2024, let’s look at India’s record in knockout stages.

India were the maiden title winners of the inaugural season of the tournament. However, since 2007, the Indian cricket team has not won any edition. They have reached the semi-finals twice and, apart from 2007, have played in the final only once.

Last time, India were knocked out of the semi-final of the tournament by Australia. India has won only one semi-final match, in 2014 in Bangladesh, where they were later defeated by Sri Lanka by 6 wickets.
