A few minutes back,
Karan Johar
took to his IG handle to post a moving tribute to his father, the late filmmaker Yash Johar. Karan shared a throwback pic, where he is resting his hands on his father’s shoulder from behind. Along with the pic, he wrote, “Forever using your love, grace, ambition, humility and compassion to guide me in every aspect of my life, papa….specially with Yashi & Roohi❤️

Karan started his directorial journey with the Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji and
Kajol
starrer Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, that is still regarded as one of the best love stories Bollywood has seen. In an old interview with Film Companion, Karan Johar shared a funny story about
filming
an important scene without telling the main actor beforehand.
Recalling a memorable moment, Karan Johar shared how he filmed the emotional reunion scene between Rahul (played by Shah Rukh Khan) and Anjali (played by Kajol) without them knowing.
He said he explained the scene to them and played a song to set the mood. Before the rehearsal started, he instructed his
Director
of Photography (DOP) to roll the camera. Once they finished, he said, “Cut.” Shah Rukh then asked,Now we will do the take?’ He said, ‘No, we have rolled.’ He was surprised,” Karan mentioned.
Karan Johar also shared how his father, Yash Johar, reacted casually to the incident, mentioning,My father was like, ‘Beta tu ghar jaa aur soja. Ho gaya na kaam (Son, you just come home and sleep). Don’t worry about anything.”
Reflecting on his film “Rocky aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani,” Johar praised the excellent
chemistry
between actors Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. He highlighted their natural rapport and how well they synced in their dialogues due to their great understanding. Describing a specific moment during the shoot, Karan mentioned that they completed one perfect shot so efficiently that they finished by 1 p.m. He said,We had nothing else planned for the day. I called pack up and got a frantic call. I said,’ I didn’t need to; what should I do?'”
