Royal Challengers Bengaluru made a stellar comeback to make their way into ISL 2024 Playoffs

Once again, Royal Challengers Bangalore have fallen short in the Indian Premier League. Despite a promising run to the playoffs, they couldn’t overcome the Eliminator against Rajasthan Royals. Faf du Plessis and his squad suffered a four-wicket defeat, ending their impressive resurgence in the tournament. This loss gave former Chennai Super Kings star Ambati Rayudu an opportunity to take a jab at the team.

“RCB needs to understand that you can’t win the IPL trophy just by celebrating aggressively. Success isn’t achieved by merely beating Chennai Super Kings. To clinch the trophy, you need a well-rounded team and strong performances in the playoffs,” Rayudu remarked on Star Sports.

Ambati Rayudu said, “If you talk about RCB, it shows that only passion and celebration don’t win you trophies. You don’t get the IPL trophy just by reaching the playoffs. Don’t think you will win the trophy just by beating CSK”. pic.twitter.com/cigmhfCC2F

Why did Ambati Rayudu take a jab at RCB ?

In the previous match, Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Chennai Super Kings and celebrated their victory extensively. However, this did not sit well with former Chennai player Ambati Rayudu. After Bangalore’s elimination, Rayudu took to mocking the Faf du Plessis-led franchise.

Bengaluru posted a total of 172/8 in their allotted 20 overs. However, they fell short by 20 runs. While Rajasthan lost several wickets during the middle overs, Rovman Powell’s powerful hits at the end sealed the victory for his team, leading to a four-wicket triumph in IPL 2024.

He further added, “Bangalore must put their faith in Indian players and local coaches. Ignoring Indian talent in the Indian Premier League is not the way forward. Teams like CSK, MI, and KKR have recognized the value of Indian players, which is why they consistently perform well.”

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals are set to face Sunrisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 2 on May 24.
