Actor

Ashutosh Rana

, who is busy with the promotions of his recently released web series ‘

Murder in Mahim

’, discussed the overuse of AI. Recently, his deep fake video of reciting a poem to promote the Bharatiya Janta Party went viral. In a recent interview, the actor discussed the same thing. He also stated that he is extremely concerned about the use of

AI

for these kinds of activities, seeing it as a danger to society and mankind.

During a recent conversation with India Today, Ashutosh Rana talked about the usage of AI. He shared, “This is not something new. This is ‘Maya Yudh’, and we have been fighting it since Ramayana days. Remember how during the fight between Laxman and Meghnath, the former saw multiple avatars of Ravana’s son? This has been around for ages but we are witnessing it right now. One needs to be cautious about how things could turn out.”
Ashutosh Rana stated that there is nothing a person can do to help themselves in this circumstance. He added, “But people who know you will never question you. And the ones who do will never be satisfied with your response. They have already formed an image in their mind, and whatever you do will never matter to them.”
Rana went on to voice concerns about the ease with which someone’s face may be edited in videos, which could result in character assassination. He allegedly said that his guru, his children, his late parents, and his wife Renuka Shahane would be the only people he would answer to, even if such a situation happened to him. Rana supposedly claimed to be unaffected by public opinion aside from these specific individuals. But he also stressed the need for caution, pointing out that it takes time to establish a reputations and can be rapidly ruined.

In the same interview, Rana was questioned regarding his intentions to enter politics. The actor revealed that he was a politician (neta) before he became an actor (abhineta). He stated that this is the reason why he was expected to eventually enter the Sansad, or Parliament. However, Rana went on to say that not everyone can be in Parliament, highlighting the significance of the public. He reportedly included himself among the public, expressing his conviction that the functioning of Parliament depends on properly empowered people.

On the work front, Ashutosh Rana’s thriller series ‘Murder in Mahim’ was recently released on JioCinema. The show is an interesting, thought-provoking tale about the widespread practice of ‘honey-trapping’ people in Mumbai on the basis of their sexual orientation and personal preferences. Actor Vijay Raaz plays a crucial role in the show as well.
