Goa 2024 Lok Sabha polls: Date, schedule, candidates and other key info

Goa’s two Lok Sabha seats, South Goa and North Goa, will go to the polls on May 7 (Tuesday) in the 3rd phase of the general elections.

A total of 16 candidates, eight each in North and South Goa Lok Sabha constituencies, are in the fray.

BJP‘s Shripad Naik current represents North Goa, while the South Goa Lok Sabha seat is currently held by Congress‘ Francisco Sardinha.

In South Goa, the BJP has fielded Pallavi Dempo, the executive director of Dempo Industries, against Congress’s Viriato Fernandes.

Goa LS election: Size of the electorate
As on April 19, Goa has 11,79,644 voters (5,80,710 in North Goa and 5,98,934 in South Goa). Among the voters, 5,71,617 are men, 6,07,715 women and 12 transgender persons. Besides, there are 300 service voters, including 133 in North Goa and 167 in South Goa.

A total of 1,725 polling stations have been set up across the coastal state. These include 863 in the North Goa seat and 862 in the South Goa parliamentary constituency.
