Bhushan Gagrani instructed civic officials to ensure that the roads at junctions where concrete and
asphalt roads
meet, are levelled, to make sure
motorists
do not feel any discomfort due to uneven road surfaces. The Commissioner instructed the administration to ensure that the work of levelling all road junctions with an uniform asphalt layer and ongoing cement concretisation of roads, are completed by May 31.
During, a late-night inspection of road cement concretisation work in Western suburbs, on Saturday, the Commissioner directed officials to ensure that roads are pothole free, besides carry out measures to ensure that wherever concretisation works are incomplete, citizens are not troubled and to remove barricades, particularly at road cement concretisation sites, which will cause inconvenience to traffic movement, wherever feasible, during monsoon.
Gagrani also instructed officials to not carry out any new road excavations. Currently, the first phase of cement concretisation covering a total length of 400 kilometres, is in progress within the BMC’s jurisdiction.
The administrator inspected the lane marking work near Rajiv Gandhi College in Andheri (West) on Juhu-Versova Link Road and commended the completion of cement road work on both sides of the roads. He expressed satisfaction that the ramp built at the entrance of the building has been well connected to the road and the footpath works have been executed effectively. A slump cone test to test quality was conducted during the ongoing pavement concrete work at Goregaon-Mulund Link Road.
