Nilesh Kumbhani
, the disqualified
Congress
candidate for
Surat LS seat
, finally surfaced after several days and reached his house on Thursday, but refused to meet anyone, including the media. There was a heavy
security bandobast
at his apartment to ensure no unlawful situation took place, and cops didn’t allow anyone to enter without proper verification, in view of
protests
held earlier by Congress and AAP, declaring him “wanted”, after his
disqualification
and disappearance.
Before he reached home, Kumbhani had told a couple of people to alert media persons about his plan to address reporters at his farm in Sarthana, sources said, adding that he dropped the idea later “due to unknown reasons”. “He was to describe the entire episode in detail (of candidature withdrawal) to make his stand clear, but changed his mind,” a source claimed.
